Born to be Wild,The Pusher & Magic Carpet Ride have always been great tracks but the rest are solid rock performances with some great complimentary guitar work. This compilation seemed to include most of the good stuff and a few other things. It works well, a good chunk of nostalgia.
thanks so much for the cd Great cd, I'm, sure my friend will love this.
Including those three songs and omitting the Monster/Suicide/America trilogy would have made this an almost perfect set. "Power Play" from Monster is a good song and would have been a nice addition too. John Kay was never good at singing ballads as this compilation proves. This set contains the expected "hits" but true connoisseurs will notice that it lacking several of the most interesting Steppenwolf songs. All Steppenwolf compilations, that I've seen, omit "28", "Faster Than The Speed Of Life", and "Tighten Up Your Wig", all of which are on Steppenwolf The Second.
Good driving music. Goldy's piano solo in the original was an excellent jazz excursion that gave this cut personality.outside of that, this collection is perfect. .the song "For Ladies Only" (4:13) is either a rerecorded, an updated, or a "single" version of the song. I'm not going to whine about it, but, i do wish the full version (9:19) was included on this compilation.
The order process and ship was smooth and trouble free. My title says it all. The CD itself is as good of quality as a CD can be.
